Date Assigned Class Activities Assignments
4/1

First, we will review the homework for 7.4.  I will also go over when any of the students that missed the Chapter 6 test can make it up.  We will discuss whether or not to fold Chapter 7 into Chapter 9 for the test.  I will then talk about what an ellipse looks like.  I will have ask the students where they think ellipse occur. We will talk about where in nature they see ellipses. I will then show them what the foci are for.  We will look at an ellipse drawing using the lanyard from my ID.  We will then look at the basic proof (if we have time).  I will then go into the formulas regarding ellipses.  I will show the class how to graph, find the foci, complete the square to create an ellipse equation.  I will then have the students start their work.

First, we will go over any questions on the ellipse assignment. I will then introduce how hyperbola's work. I will then show them what the foci are for.  I will then go into the formulas regarding hyperbolas.  I will show the class how to graph, find the foci, complete the square to create a hyperbola's equation.  I will then have the students start their work.
We may have a quiz on Ellipses today.

First, we will go over the quizzes from last class. I will then go over any questions on the homework that the students have. We will then look at Parabolas. I will start with how to find the vertex. We will look at how parabola open and end behavior. We will look at how to find the directrix, vertex, foci, and the latus rectum. There maybe a parabola quiz next class.

4/10 Today we are going to go over parametric equations. These equations enable graphs to have direction. They are usually done with time and multiple variables. I will show how to graph, manipulate, and change these equations. We will go over the Parabola Homework, Quiz will be tomorrow.

4/15

Today we are going to go over the review of Chapter 7 and 9. I will also go over the quiz from last class. Next class, or is it Tuesday of next week,  we will have a test on Chapter 7 and 9.

We will start going over section 10.1 Sequences and Summation Notation. I will go over what a sequence is, definite, indefinite, recursion formulas, Factorial Notation and Summation Notation. Hopefully everyone is ready for the test.

4/17

First, we will look over the homework. I will then go over what an arithmetic sequence is. We will look at how to create formulas that describe certain terms. We will then investigate sums of sequences. We will also go through how sequences are used in the real world.

Testing, no class

5/2

I will not be in class today. Today there will be a review assignment on Chapter 10. There will be a quiz on 10.1 and 10.2 next time I see you. Students may quietly work together on the assignments. I'm trying to not give too much homework during AP exams. Please complete work in class.

Chapter 10 review (due Tuesday May 6)

5/6 The US history exam is today. I'm not sure how many kids will be done and in class. What I would like to do is review section 10.3 and the chapter review. I'm not planning a quiz today, just review. No homework today (there are AP Exams coming up).

5/8

If we have a full class today we will start with the quiz we have been trying to take for a few classes. Then we will go over any questions on the Chapter 10 Review.

We are going to take another look at conditional equations with Trig. I will walk the class through a few examples and we will use the unit circle to find the values that make the equation true.

5/13

Today we will go over the homework on conditionals. I will then introduce the students to the concept of repeating conditionals. We will look at the notation to describe repeating conditionals. The class will have to provide both conditional solutions on problems 11-20.

5/15 Today we will soend more time reviewng the homework. I will walk the students through how to find the repeat solutions. The class will have the day to work on these problems. I will be testing this afternoon, so the class will be cut short.

5/16 Look like half of my class is absent. We will go over the last of the conditional assignments. I will show the class how to deal with inequalities in conditionals. There will be a test on Chapter 10 next week. Maybe next class. We will discuss today when the test will be given. AP Exams are over, back to normal.

Today we will be missing several kids for the Dave and Buster field trip. I will go over any questions on the Conditionals homework. I will introduce the concepts of limits. We will look at one sided limits and how that corresponds to limits.

5/29

Since half of the class was missing last class, I will extend the 11.1 homework to be due next week. This is the last homework assignment. Yeah!!!

I have posted a video of how to complete the assignment.  The students that are already finished can help the students that were absent.  Or the students that have completed the assignment can have a quiet study day, their choice.
